Tras numerosos fallos de motor en diferentes aerol\u00edneas de todo el mundo, aunque principalmente europeas, la FAA finalmente ha emitido una nueva Directiva de Aeronavegabilidad (AD).<\/strong> A finales del a\u00f1o pasado, se confirm\u00f3 que uno de los problemas principales se deb\u00eda a una actualizaci\u00f3n de software.<\/p>\n

Esta directiva afecta a los motores Pratt & Whitney PW1519G, PW1521G, PW1521G-3, PW1521GA, PW1524G, PW1524G-3, PW1525G y PW1525G-3. La FAA ha identificado que el fallo ocurre en el compresor de baja presi\u00f3n, siempre en motores que han sido enviados como repuestos, nunca en los originales<\/strong>, y dentro de los primeros 300 ciclos de vuelo.<\/p>\n

Esta AD viene despu\u00e9s de la menos 4 incidentes registrados en 2019 con aerol\u00edneas europeas (3 con Swiss y uno con airBaltic) y otro registrado en febrero de este a\u00f1o en un avi\u00f3n de airBaltic y la FAA considera que es un problema muy serio y potencialmente moral, por lo que todas las aerol\u00edneas que deseen volar sus A220 en el espacio a\u00e9reo de los EEUU y tengan una versi\u00f3n antigua, deber\u00e1n actualizar el software de control electr\u00f3nico del motor a la versi\u00f3n EEC FADEC V2.11.9.2.<\/p>\n

Esta AD afecta solo a las aerol\u00edneas que operen sus A220 en el espacio a\u00e9reo de los EEUU<\/strong>, lo que de momento afecta solo a Delta Air Lines y a Air Canada, que poseen 30 y 3 aviones respectivamente. No obstante, esta medida podr\u00eda aplicarse pronto en Europa, dado que la EASA ya la est\u00e1 estudiando.<\/p>\n
