Que el avi\u00f3n es el medio de transporte m\u00e1s seguro que existe es una expresi\u00f3n que todos hemos escuchado alguna vez. No obstante, a pesar de las bondades que tiene viajar en avi\u00f3n, \u00bfpor qu\u00e9 las aerol\u00edneas, adem\u00e1s de colocar chalecos salvavidas, no incluyen tambi\u00e9n un peque\u00f1o paraca\u00eddas debajo de los asientos de los pasajeros? Seguramente piensas que as\u00ed se podr\u00eda salvar a miles de personas, pero, aunque suene extra\u00f1o, no lo har\u00eda.<\/p>\n

En este sentido, pocos sabr\u00e1n por qu\u00e9 las compa\u00f1\u00edas a\u00e9reas no cuentan con paraca\u00eddas para evacuar a los pasajeros en situaciones de emergencia. De nuevo, la explicaci\u00f3n reside en la seguridad, ya que lejos de parecer a priori una forma de escapar r\u00e1pida y segura, un protocolo de evacuaci\u00f3n en aviones comerciales que implique la utilizaci\u00f3n de paraca\u00eddas supondr\u00eda, m\u00e1s bien, una imprudencia y retrasar\u00eda la salida del pasaje. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Mientras que desde la d\u00e9cada de los 80 se introdujeron paraca\u00eddas bal\u00edsticos que pueden evitar desgracias en aeronaves ligeras cuando los pilotos pierden el control de la m\u00e1quina, minimizando los siniestros y aumentando la posibilidad de que sobrevivan los ocupantes de los aviones accidentados, los aviones civiles carecen de paraca\u00eddas, ya que son artefactos que, en manos inexpertas, dejar\u00edan de cumplir su objetivo principal \u2014frenar una ca\u00edda\u2014<\/strong> y retrasar\u00edan en gran medida la evacuaci\u00f3n de un avi\u00f3n. Debido tambi\u00e9n a que la gran mayor\u00eda de accidentes se producen al despegar o aterrizar la aeronave<\/strong>, estos aparatos se utilizar\u00edan en contadas ocasiones cuando fallase de forma fat\u00eddica en pleno vuelo.<\/p>\n
