Y por si fuera poco, el menos contaminante. Cero huella de carbono deja su fulgurante estela. Lleva por nombre Boom XB-1<\/strong> y sus constructores anuncian que es del todo sostenible. Cero emisiones<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

La empresa de aviaci\u00f3n Boom Supersonic<\/strong>, l\u00edder en la industria de jets de negocio y con sede en Denver (Estados Unidos), acaba de anunciar a bombo y platillo que el programa de vuelos de prueba de su nuevo avi\u00f3n supers\u00f3nico XB-1 ha sido totalmente neutro en carbono mediante el uso de combustibles de aviaci\u00f3n sostenibles. Acaba de montar su fuselaje y dejarlo inmaculado para las fotos en una demostraci\u00f3n de que la velocidad y el dise\u00f1o no est\u00e1n re\u00f1idos con el compromiso ambiental<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

El pasado verano, Boom sell\u00f3 su asociaci\u00f3n con la revolucionaria compa\u00f1\u00eda Prometheus Fuels<\/strong> (que fabrica combustibles alternativos sostenibles, con sede en San Francisco) para suministrar energ\u00eda para reactores garantizando una emisi\u00f3n neutra de carbono durante el programa de pruebas del XB-1.<\/p>\n

\u00bfY c\u00f3mo se consigue este milagro centelleante? Prometheus elimina el CO2 del aire<\/strong> y utiliza electricidad limpia para convertirlo en combustible para aviones. El sol y el viento proporcionan la fuerza en este proceso de transformaci\u00f3n, por lo que no hay emisiones netas de carbono desembocados de la ignici\u00f3n del combustible.<\/p>\n

El director general de Prometheus esboz\u00f3 los avances tecnol\u00f3gicos que podr\u00edan hacer que la gasolina renovable y el precio de los aviones de CO2 compitan con los combustibles f\u00f3siles, adem\u00e1s de echar c\u00e1lculos con lo que ha de venir.<\/p>\n
