-Boeing ha realizado anteriormente vuelos de prueba exitosos reemplazando el combustible para aviones de petr\u00f3leo con combustibles 100% sostenibles para abordar el desaf\u00edo urgente del cambio clim\u00e1tico.<\/p>\n

Seg\u00fan el Air Transport Action Group<\/strong>, el Departamento de Energ\u00eda de EE. UU. y varios otros estudios cient\u00edficos, los combustibles de aviaci\u00f3n sostenibles reducen las emisiones de CO2 hasta en un 80%<\/strong> durante el ciclo de vida del combustible con el potencial de alcanzar el 100% en el futuro.<\/p>\n

En la actualidad, los combustibles de aviaci\u00f3n sostenibles se mezclan directamente con el combustible para aviones convencional hasta una mezcla 50\/50,<\/strong> el m\u00e1ximo permitido seg\u00fan las especificaciones de combustible actuales.<\/p>\n

Para cumplir con el compromiso de la aviaci\u00f3n de reducir las emisiones de carbono en un 50% con respecto a los niveles de 2005 para 2050, los aviones necesitan la capacidad de volar con combustibles de aviaci\u00f3n 100% sostenibles mucho antes de 2050.<\/strong><\/p>\n
